RF Manufacturing Test Engineer

Anduril•Irvine, CA

About The Position

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking an RF Manufacturing Test Engineer to join its Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team. The EW Manufacturing Team rapidly iterates and builds defense hardware for Electromagnetic Warfare, supporting the manufacturing value chain through design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. The RF Manufacturing Test Engineer will ensure systems are tested to stringent standards, products meet quality expectations, and production throughput requirements are achieved. The role develops solutions to difficult testing problems and continuously improves test automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics. It owns production test activities and capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation. The engineer also troubleshoots electrical issues, develops technician instructions and training, analyzes failures and test data, maintains test equipment, and collaborates with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on product sustainment, returns, and new product introduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers in testing PCBAs or electronic assemblies.
  • Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment, including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition equipment, and measurement sensors.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES).
  • Experience on projects involving integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own production test activities and ensure production test flow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to key component-level in-process validation.
  • Improve and sustain test systems to increase automation, consistency, test coverage, and efficiency while reducing total cycle time.
  • Generate test work instructions for technicians in MES and train technicians on equipment use as required.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides and diagrams.
  • Determine root causes of product failures and recommend corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Provide feedback on early-stage test design and test processes for new products (NPI).
  • Analyze test data, document results, and prepare detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to recommend product enhancements based on test outcomes.
  • Optimize test strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and methodologies as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute testing as required.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers as part of total compensation.
