About The Position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Principal RF Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for RF system architecture, design, and performance across a portfolio of advanced sensors, EW payloads, and weapon-system effectors. MFC is a recognized designer, developer, and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. This role is suited for a recognized expert who shapes RF technical direction at the business-area level, serves as a prime consultant to MFC leadership, and represents the organization to customers and the broader defense RF community. This position offers the opportunity to set the long-term technical direction of RF engineering at MFC and to shape the workforce and technical capability for the next decade of mission needs. Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Recognized expert across multiple RF engineering domains, which could include: - RF/microwave system architecture and requirements decomposition from weapon-system through component level - End-to-end RF chain design (antennas, transmitters, receivers, LNAs, HPAs, RF conversion, transmission line equipment) - RF link analysis and optimization, including propagation, interference, and contested-spectrum effects - RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis - Electronic Warfare (EW), radar, communications, or SIGINT system architecture, design, and integration
  • Track record of serving as chief engineer, IPT lead, or technical lead on a major program/effort
  • Demonstrated success driving competitive captures and IRAD strategy, including technical-volume authorship, BOE development, and competitive technical strategy
  • Authoritative communicator with the demonstrated ability to brief executive leadership, senior customer executives, and external technical communities
  • Established record of mentoring and developing staff- and senior-staff-level RF engineers and shaping the technical workforce
  • Demonstrated influence on the design/selling success, financial posture, products, or technologies of the organization
  • Strong familiarity with acquisition lifecycle, milestone reviews, technical baseline management, and configuration control
  • Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
