About The Position
Penny Paws in Grand Prairie is looking for a compassionate, dependable Kennel Technician to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who enjoys caring for animals, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants hands-on experience in veterinary medicine. This position will also be cross-trained to support Client Service Representative responsibilities and assist Veterinary Technicians as needed, making it an excellent opportunity to continue learning and growing within the veterinary field.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Desire to learn and grow within veterinary medicine
- Positive attitude and commitment to excellent patient care
Nice To Haves
- Previous animal care experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for animals
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels and workspaces
- Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns appropriately
- Assist with grooming, bathing, and basic patient care as needed
- Help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for pets
- Cross-train to support reception responsibilities and assist veterinary staff
- Support hospital operations and patient care throughout the day
