About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, shipping, and inventory management. This role involves managing a team, controlling truck operations for cost-effective and timely deliveries, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety compliance. The manager will also be involved in budgeting, staff development, and interfacing with other departments like Purchasing.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of progressive, hands-on warehouse experience, distribution background preferred.
  • 2-5 years of managerial experience leading teams.
  • Must possess strong communication, organization, delegation, and PC skills required.
  • Must know how to operate different warehouse equipment, sit down forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, etc.
  • Must have a good knowledge of product areas similar to Würth Louis and Company.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate verbally and write in English.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations/ dissatisfied customers and deal effectively and harmoniously with various personnel both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all material is received into the warehouse and shipped to branches and customers in the most efficient manner.
  • Control general truck operations including scheduling of truck deliveries to optimize courteous customer deliveries in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure prompt deliveries and vendor pick-ups.
  • Ensure that activities related to receiving, shipping, transferring and returning of goods are properly documented in both electronic and hard copy formats.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced.
  • Interface with Purchasing to ensure inventory is at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure damaged or off-quality merchandise is reported to Purchasing.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, identify which products should be inventoried monthly.
  • Ensure inventory numbers are accurate.
  • Resolve transfer and receiving discrepancies.
  • Prepare departmental budget, control overtime and expenses.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective staff by interviewing and selecting qualified employees, overseeing departmental training, conducting performance reviews, recommending salary increases, transfers, promotions.
  • Conduct disciplinary action in conformance with company policy.
  • Health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
