The Advanced Location Technology (ALT) RF Development Team is responsible for the design of next generation RFID and Location products for the Industrial, Healthcare, and Sports Markets. Products incorporate a diverse set of location technologies including: UHF RFID, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), WWAN and Wi-Fi, to locate assets and people. Members of the hardware team design the RFID readers, Antennas, UWB tags, beacons, receivers, hubs, etc. that are the key hardware components in the overall location solutions. Products developed by this group include Zebras Handheld and Fixed RFID Readers in addition to UWB tags and receivers which are used to track all NFL football players and balls at all NFL games at all stadiums. Design engineers must be creative in applying the latest technologies to solving difficult locationing problems with cost effective, accurate, and reliable hardware and firmware. The Advanced RF Design Engineer will be responsible for developing products from inception to production release. Designs may consist of RF systems and board level designs of radio transmitters and receivers in the 800MHz-8GHz range, RF Front Ends, and RF sub-systems and Antennas. Other responsibilities include support for manufacturing, design and/or specification of antennas, and documentation including specifications, user manuals, and test procedures. The candidate will work with other in-house RF, Antenna, Electrical, Mechanical and Firmware Engineers as well as off-shore Joint-Development-Partners (JDMs) in the design and manufacture of these Advanced Location Technology products. This role is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of three days per week in our Holtsville, NY office. Zebra reserves the right to modify your work location based on business need.
