About The Position

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience focusing on RF and Microwave hardware design to work primarily on the Iris Radio within our Civil & Commercial Space Division. The Iris Radio is a software-defined radio designed for deep space operations, including missions to Mars, the Moon, and asteroids. The team is currently updating the design and expanding the radio's capabilities, generating significant interest in the space community. The role requires active RF hardware design at the component and PCB level, with a willingness to learn and expand knowledge and skills. Experience with test bench work to bring designs to life and integrate them with other team members' designs is essential. SDL provides a well-equipped test lab with a full suite of appropriate test equipment. Expertise in receiver and LNA design, as well as transmitter and SSPA design, is a minimum requirement. Additionally, a working knowledge of switch-mode power supplies, digital control systems, thermal management, and RF system testing of subassemblies and final assemblies is necessary.
