The RF Design Engineer develops, designs, models, and tests radio frequency transmitter and receiver circuit subsystems as part of multidisciplinary teams responsible for integrated product designs. The role involves designing, developing, and testing power amplifiers, receivers, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), and phase-locked loops (PLLs). The initial assignment is to develop an RF circuit for next-generation infrastructure products operating in the VHF through 900 MHz bands. Other assignments may involve supporting field issues or end-of-life components related to RF circuits on legacy products. The engineer is expected to apply RF circuit knowledge, basic power amplifier knowledge, and an understanding of communication theory, and to enjoy hands-on circuit building and debugging. During product development, the role works closely with other engineers, suppliers, and the factory. Some travel may be required according to the job description, although the Travel Requirements section states “None.”
