About The Position

Effector Guidance Electronics designs RF and microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters, for radar and datalink applications on tactical missile programs. The work spans preliminary design through integration and requires designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments. The role involves RF or mixed-signal circuit card assemblies, laboratory characterization and verification, testing and handling sensitive RF hardware, schematic capture, RF routing, and collaboration with interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and at least two years of relevant experience.
  • At least two years of experience in any combination of RF design and fabrication, RF testing and troubleshooting, or simulation of RF products.
  • Experience with Mentor DX Designer or equivalent, HFSS or equivalent, SystemVue/Genesys or equivalent, or ADS or equivalent.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required before the start date; ability to obtain an interim U.S. government-issued security clearance is also required before the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working across domains on complex projects.
  • Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight.
  • Technical background in cascade analysis or frequency planning.
  • Filter design and fabrication experience.
  • Circuit card assembly design and fabrication experience.
  • Experience testing or designing RF hybrid (chip and wire) technologies.
  • High-speed data converter testing or characterization experience.
  • High-power RF design or test experience.
  • Scripting experience with Matlab or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop transmitters, receivers, or exciters.
  • Design circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals.
  • Work in a laboratory to characterize components and verify and integrate modules.
  • Test and handle sensitive RF hardware.
  • Perform schematic capture and RF routing.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams, including power, digital, and mechanical engineers.
