About The Position

The mission of the Department of Finance and Administration is to provide Arkansas citizens convenient, effective, and courteous service which will encourage voluntary compliance with tax, license, and child support laws. The Revenue Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating a revenue-generating or collection program or child support program within a state agency. This classification plays a central role in ensuring compliance with applicable tax codes, financial regulations, state and federal child support laws and regulations, and agency procedures while supporting process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and accurate reporting.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, economics, social work or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in revenue or child support program coordination, accounting, auditing, taxation, or public finance is required, including three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, detect inconsistencies, and develop practical solutions.
  • Skilled in identifying trends, making forecasts, and drawing actionable conclusions from large data sets.
  • Precision in processing, auditing, and reporting financial data.
  • Ensures strict adherence to compliance and documentation standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; able to convey financial, policy, and procedural information clearly.
  • Must have a minimum Level IV designation from the Assessment Coordination Education Program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage a designated revenue program or revenue-collection unit or child support function within a state agency.
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and operational guidelines in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor program compliance, conduct internal audits or reviews, and ensure corrective actions are taken where necessary.
  • Supervise or provide functional oversight to a team of analysts, technicians, or administrative staff involved in collections, processing, or reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on revenue trends, program performance, and budgetary impacts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, vendors, and the public to ensure accurate interpretation and application of revenue or child support policies.
  • Review and analyze data related to tax collection, licensing fees, permits, or fines, child support functions, to identify discrepancies, recommend process improvements, or enhance collections.
  • Assist in the development and administration of contracts, grants, or vendor agreements related to program operations.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, or legislative reviews involving revenue streams or fund management and program performance.
