Requirements

  • Hospitality-oriented.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, preferably.
  • Must possess skills in Opera PMS and MARSHA.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong leadership skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, good customer service skills, and multitasking abilities.
  • Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the hotel's room revenue, focusing on financial standards and ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards.
  • Compiles information, analyzes, and monitors actual sales versus projected sales.
  • Identifies key principles, reasons, or data by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Conducts sales strategy analysis and adjusts as needed to increase market share for all properties.
  • Maintains accurate information in the reservation system.
  • Analyzes period-end closing data and other available systems to identify trends, future high-demand periods, and obstacles to achieving goals.
  • Generates transient segment updates each period.
  • Maintains up-to-date market knowledge and aligns strategies and approaches accordingly.
  • Meets and exceeds goals, including performance, budget, team, and other goals.
  • Understands and addresses the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests, etc.).
  • Identifies opportunities that drive profits, create customer value, and foster innovation; challenges existing processes, systems, and products to make improvements.
  • Provides functional revenue management expertise to cluster general managers, leadership teams, and market sales leaders.
  • Ensures sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented, and modified as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Manages room inventory to maximize cluster revenue.
  • Leads efforts to coordinate strategies between group sales offices.
  • Utilizes reservation and demand forecasting systems to determine, implement, and control sales strategies.
  • Verifies distribution channels to ensure hotel positioning, information accuracy, and competitive positioning.
  • Provides recommendations to improve the effectiveness of revenue management processes.
  • Understands and communicates brand value in relation to franchise alliances and revenue management opportunities.
  • Informs and/or keeps executives, peers, and subordinates updated on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Must have a complete knowledge of MARSHA and Opera.
  • Responsible for departmental recruitment, training, and payroll.
  • Uses negotiation skills and creative sales abilities to close business and negotiate contracts.
  • Effectively utilizes sales resources and administrative/support staff.
  • Must maximize revenue and occupancy, and create a positive environment oriented towards teamwork and guest focus.
  • Conducts regular operational meetings to discuss routine matters, departmental performance goals, and guest feedback.
  • Responsible for maximizing profits by consistently delivering the highest standard of service and financial controls.
  • Knowledge of the Marriott Rewards program.
  • Understands how the Group Sales and Front Desk departments relate to the Reservations Department.
  • Understands how Worldwide Reservation Centers function in relation to the hotel.
  • Has knowledge of room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions, and knows how to handle each.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a departmental orientation program so employees receive adequate training upon hiring and can successfully perform their duties.
  • Utilizes all available on-the-job training tools for employees.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures related to safety and security; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager; and completes safety training and certifications.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports the team to achieve common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
