About The Position

At the Louisiana Department of Revenue, we are dedicated to fairly and efficiently administering the state’s tax laws to ensure compliance while providing exceptional customer service. We’re looking for a Revenue Management Consultant to join our Business Services Division! The Revenue Management Consultant is responsible for coordinating service request and project activities with IT management for transition to work queues and providing support to the Business Division by facilitating day-to-day assistance involving application issues.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR An advanced degree or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus one year of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agency initiatives through testing activities, identify system and process weaknesses and recommend changes.
  • Serve as an advisor to department management regarding organization and tax management methods, and data processing.
  • Assist in identifying and utilizing application systems to support LDR business groups through testing activities.
  • Provide data to support strategic and operational processes, using testing results and impacts on those processes when changes occur.
  • Participate in project and system change testing activities.
  • Receive assignments for testing tasks and other assignments to ensure that project and task deadlines are completed.
  • Expand testing tasks to complete regression testing and verify related business and system processes.
  • Document and report issues discovered in testing appropriately and perform retest activities to confirm corrections, using knowledge of business processes.
  • Capture and document testing scenarios and results, attaching them electronically to each appropriate project or request.
