About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Support Specialist is responsible for supporting all Revenue Cycle departments in various ways. The specialist serves as the system administrators for many revenue cycle applications and are responsible for providing or deactivating user access to an application, unlocking or resetting passwords and maintaining data bases of these systems. The position is responsible for NJ State reporting through the appointed claims processing vendor. This includes but not limited to uploading claim files, correcting rejected claims, reconciling Star visits to State accepted claims, and updates tables as new requirements as released by the State. The specialist is responsible for report execution, formatting and distribution, data validation and inputting data in a timely an accurate manner, this includes the I9999 billing and accounting report, Medicaid Expansion Report, First and Second of the Month reports. The specialists will rotate coming in on the 1st of the month, if it falls on a weekend or holiday. The specialist will set and onboard all Business Office vendors and set the criteria for each vendor up in STAR/Oracle table. The role includes adding and removing all new or invalid insurance plans to STAR and Oracle. The role of the specialist will be making changes to the billing parameters, Claim Load and Edit parameters, UB load and edit parameters, HCPCS tables and 837 parameters and changing suspense days in the STAR Master table. The specialist also maintains table updates into multiple financial applications. The specialist will run all vendor scripts in Boston Work Station weekly, run all business office adjustment scripts for month end, and run scripts as sent by the Revenue Cycle Team. This position will perform daily room charge reconciliation to ensure accounts have the correct amount billed days, advise revenue integrity of any fallouts, and add or delete days as directed. The specialist will assist in troubleshooting issues and concerns affecting the department to insure smooth operations. The Revenue Cycle Support Specialist will participate in organization and department testing of new or enhancements for all Revenue Cycle applications. This position will follow all confidentiality and security policies. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, ensuring quality of data and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • HFMA: CRCR or Litmos Certified Professional Revenue Cycle Master required, or must be obtained within 6 months of employment; must pass exam within 2 attempts to maintain in position required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Hospital, Medical practice or healthcare with Scheduling, Registration, Insurance verification or billing required.

Responsibilities
