About The Position

The Audit Clerk is responsible for the daily audit of various casino gaming and/or non-gaming operating departments. This role involves verifying the accuracy and correctness of figures, calculations, and postings of all recorded transactions against original documents. The position also entails reconciling reports, issuing exception reports for non-compliance, coordinating with supervisors on revenue discrepancies, preparing journal entries, and maintaining organized audit records.

Requirements

  • Must possess high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and receive a license from the DE Lottery
  • Must present an overall professional appearance and report to work in appropriate attire
  • Must be able to operate a PC using Microsoft Excel and Word software in a Windows environment.
  • Must be able to make progress on multiple assignments and month-end deadlines under time constraints.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English

Responsibilities

  • Verifying accuracy and correctness of figures, calculations and postings of all recorded transactions against original documents.
  • Receiving Casino-related Transaction Reports with associated supporting documents for Title 31 Auditor.
  • Reconciling reports to supporting documents in accordance with established internal gaming controls, as outlined on daily/weekly/monthly/annual checklists.
  • Issuing Exception Reports for any instances of non-compliance with established internal controls.
  • Coordinating with the lead audit clerk or Audit Supervisor concerning revenue discrepancies and proposed adjustments to be made to correct the same.
  • Preparing daily recurring journal entries to record daily activity, as appropriate.
  • Compiling all reports pertaining to the daily audit operations and distributing/saving in accordance with the distribution list/policy.
  • Maintaining complete audit records in an organized manner for proper record retention as per company policy.
  • Filing all documents and computer reports for future reference.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
