About The Position
Teacher Assistants and staff at High Jump will work in person at 1 of 3 campuses: University of Chicago Lab Schools, Latin School of Chicago, or Francis W. Parker. The role involves supporting students in 5 sections daily for 60 minutes each, including assisting the teacher and students in the classroom, supervising breakfast and lunch, and taking attendance. TAs will also assist with arrival and dismissal procedures and attend all sessions.
Requirements
- Must be an alumni of High Jump
- Must be 16 years of age
- Strong commitment to working with middle school students
- A willingness to learn, collaborate, and accept feedback
- Ability to take on responsibilities such as assisting with small group lessons, arrival/dismissal, and supervision of students
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with middle and high school age students
Responsibilities
- Support 5 sections of students each day for 60 minutes each.
