About The Position

Teachers and staff at High Jump will work in person at 1 of 3 campuses: University of Chicago Lab Schools (5835 South Kimbark Ave, Chicago, IL 60637), Latin School of Chicago (59 W North Blvd, Chicago, IL 60610), or Francis W. Parker (330 W Webster Ave, Chicago, IL 60614). The work hours are from 7:45 am to 2:30 pm. The dates of employment are specified, including a professional development day on September 19, 2026. Teachers will follow provided curriculum and lesson plans, present lessons, grade and track student progress, maintain a Google Classroom, and communicate with parents and teaching assistants. The primary goal is to maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment to optimize student capabilities and foster a love of learning.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Associates degree minimum.
• Experience working with students or in organizations that serve youth.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree preferred.
• Teaching certification preferred for content areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow provided curriculum and lesson plans.
• Present lessons to students individually or in groups.
• Grade and track student progress.
• Keep an updated Google Classroom for students with assignments and feedback.
• Inform parents about student progress.
• Communicate with Teaching Assistants about classroom engagement and student interaction.
• Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment to optimize student capabilities and develop their love of learning.
