About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking passionate, life-long learners to shape students' hearts and minds in their network of 49 public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools across Arizona, Louisiana, and Texas. Great Hearts is dedicated to providing a high-quality, classical liberal arts education, with the highest goal of education being to become good, intellectually and morally. The Teaching Assistant and Apprentice Teacher roles are designed to support lead teachers in implementing a rich Core Knowledge curriculum and learning the craft of teaching in a classical, liberal arts primary-school environment. Many Apprentice Teachers go on to become lead teachers. Requirements

• US work authorization is required
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Some locations (e.g. Title I schools) may require assistant teachers to have an AA, 60 hours of college credit, or be able to pass a ParaPro proficiency exam before beginning work.
