About The Position

As a licensed Retirement Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping Canadians build confidence in their financial future while driving meaningful sales results. On our Client Solutions team, you'll connect with Group Retirement Savings plan members over the phone, uncover their financial goals, and provide personalized retirement and wealth solutions that help them take action. Through consultative conversations, you'll identify opportunities to deepen client relationships, grow assets under management, and support clients in achieving their retirement objectives. This is more than a sales role. It's an opportunity to combine your passion for helping people with your ability to influence, educate, and deliver solutions that make a real difference in clients' financial lives. This role focuses exclusively on existing Sun Life clients. You'll spend your time helping clients maximize their retirement savings and achieve their financial goals—without cold calling or prospecting for new clients. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your sales expertise while building long-term client relationships and delivering meaningful financial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of sales experience in financial services, wealth management, insurance, banking, or related industry
  • Strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to build trust quickly, create meaningful client connections over the phone, and engage effectively with diverse clients.
  • Proven ability to uncover client needs and confidently recommend tailored solutions, with demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and influencing client decisions.
  • Self-motivated professional with strong time management and organizational skills, coupled with a growth mindset and passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing financial advice and investment recommendations
  • Completion of a college or university degree.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial Planner designation (IQPF).
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
  • Canadian Investment Funds Course (IFIC).

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with Group Retirement Savings plan members through proactive outbound and inbound client conversations.
  • Identify sales opportunities and recommend appropriate retirement and wealth solutions based on clients' goals, life stage, and financial needs.
  • Support clients through retirement planning discussions while helping them take action on investment and retirement recommendations.
  • Deliver a consultative sales experience that builds trust, strengthens client loyalty, and drives business growth.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales and client experience objectives.
  • Educate clients on retirement and investment concepts, simplifying complex financial matters into actionable solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, products, planning strategies, and regulatory requirements to deliver relevant advice.
  • Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative sales culture that celebrates success and continuous improvement.
