Provides specialized engineering expertise on a casual, as-needed basis to support organizational operations across multiple engineering disciplines. Drawing on extensive professional experience, performs technical analysis, reviews processes and products, and contributes to engineering projects requiring seasoned judgment and specialized knowledge. What You'll Be Doing: Applies deep technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines (CIM, failure analysis, industrial, manufacturing, process, product, quality assurance, reliability, or test engineering) Analyzes existing products, processes, and systems; recommends improvements based on industry best practices Reviews engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and technical specifications for projects Collaborates with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges Supports field-testing activities and validation procedures as needed Provides mentorship and knowledge transfer to engineering staff Works on flexible schedule based on organizational needs and project requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science/STEM-related area of study
  • 15 or more years of proven, related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into actionable, near-term objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of the Aerospace role and the guidelines for appropriate use of FFRDCs
