About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences is seeking an academically oriented board certified/eligible Retina and Vitreous Ophthalmologist to join their expanding team. This position will be primarily located at the Eye Institute in Milwaukee, WI, with potential days per week at satellite clinics. The practice is largely adult surgical retina, but some commitment to caring for pediatric patients is necessary. Clinical activity is primarily at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute, with possibly one or two half-days per week at satellite clinics. Ophthalmology faculty members provide clinical coverage at Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and surgical expertise, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit. A commitment to advancing MCW’s academic missions in clinical care, education, and scholarly activity is essential. Other duties will be assigned by the Chair or Chair-Designate.

Requirements

  • Licensed MD or equivalent.
  • Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
  • Completed a U.S. Retina & Vitreous Fellowship program.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin.
  • Strong clinical and surgical expertise.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and collaborative spirit.
  • Commitment to advancing MCW’s academic missions in clinical care, education, and scholarly activity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical coverage at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute, Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center.
  • Perform adult surgical retina procedures.
  • Provide care for pediatric patients.
  • Teach across medical, graduate, and postdoctoral programs.
  • Participate in Grand Rounds, lecture series, and scientific symposiums.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.
