About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences is seeking an academically oriented board certified/eligible Glaucoma Specialist to join their expanding team. This position will be located at the Eye Institute in Milwaukee, WI, on the Froedtert Hospital Campus. The department is comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care. This is an open-rank, full-time faculty position available in the clinician-educator track. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and surgical expertise, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit. A commitment to advancing MCW’s academic missions in clinical care, education, and scholarly activity is essential. Primary work locations will be at the Eye Institute, Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital Campus) and possibly one or two half-days per week at satellite clinics. Faculty members will also provide clinical coverage at Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center. Ample opportunities exist to teach Ophthalmology residents. Other duties will be assigned by the Chair or Chair-Designate.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MD or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
  • Completion of a U.S. Glaucoma Fellowship program.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical coverage during core business hours with some flexibility required, as necessary, to accommodate business needs.
  • Teach Ophthalmology residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.
