The role translates enterprise technology strategies into practical solutions that improve store operations, reduce workload, and allow store teams to focus more on clients. As a store operations subject matter expert on the Retail Technology team, the manager collaborates with Retail, Technology, Digital, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, Infrastructure, and other cross-functional partners. The role ensures technology initiatives are operationally sound, secure, reliable, and easy for stores to adopt and sustain.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in retail technology, retail store operations, store systems, technology program management, infrastructure, hardware, networks, desktop support, information security, cybersecurity, change management, or a related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cross-functional technology initiatives, launches, enhancements, risks, and timelines.
  • Deep understanding of retail store processes, day-to-day operations, workload considerations, launch readiness, incident triage, stakeholder alignment, and support-model execution.
  • Experience or working knowledge across reporting platforms, store hardware, information security, cybersecurity, networks, desktop support, infrastructure, and related digital or mobile technologies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts and business needs into clear requirements, operational guidance, communications, training, documentation, and executive updates for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to use performance data, ticket trends, store feedback, adoption measures, and workload impact to influence roadmaps and prioritization.
  • Proven ability to build alignment, influence decisions, and drive accountability across teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Clear written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A passion for client experience, store operations, workload reduction, secure technology practices, and retail innovation.
  • Agility and sound judgment when priorities, risks, or operational requirements change.
  • A collaborative, client-focused approach grounded in curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Own the store-facing vision, scope, prioritization, business requirements, and execution plans for technology initiatives, including reporting, store hardware, information security, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.

  • Own day-to-day business oversight and store-facing execution for assigned technology programs, tools, and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain store-facing operating processes, service expectations, readiness checklists, communications, training materials, and support documentation.
  • Lead intake and prioritization of assigned technology requests through the Retail operating model, evaluating business value, store impact, workload, security requirements, change-management needs, and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Troubleshoot and triage store technology issues with stores, Technology teams, the Help Desk, and cross-functional partners; identify trends, recommend solutions, and escalate material risks.
  • Define store impact, severity, urgency, business value, and operational risk to guide prioritization and resolution of incidents, recurring issues, enhancements, hardware replacements, and access or security needs.
  • Monitor ticketing, store feedback, performance data, and escalation trends to identify opportunities to improve reliability, usability, support, and store execution.
  • Define KPIs and use quantitative data, qualitative insights, store observations, adoption measures, and workload considerations to evaluate program performance and influence product roadmaps.
  • Lead post-launch reviews covering adoption, support trends, store feedback, workload impact, lessons learned, and recommended improvements.
  • Provide executive-ready updates on program status, launch readiness, adoption, risks, emerging issues, decisions, and recommended actions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify store processes, reduce operational workload, improve technology reliability, strengthen secure store operations, and increase field adoption.
  • Monitor retail, technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, AI, and consumer trends to develop a store point of view and recommend relevant tests, innovations, or investments.
