Retail Team Member Sales - Basswood
About The Position
The Retail Team Member Sales employee works at the Basswood store and supports sales-floor operations and customer service. The role operates the point-of-sale system, credit card terminal, and cash accurately, and answers telephones. The employee greets customers promptly, provides friendly and attentive service, and helps customers select and locate merchandise. Sales-floor duties include maintaining hangers and textile sizing, returning empty racks and carts to the production area, restocking merchandise, maintaining the overall appearance of the sales floor, and performing necessary cleaning throughout the store. Other duties may be assigned. The store is open seven days a week from 8 AM to 7 PM; days and hours vary, with two days off per week. Open schedule availability is preferred.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a work or educational setting demonstrating the ability to interact positively with the public or a team.
- Proficiency in basic math and the ability to read and write.
- Ability to operate computerized equipment, including a POS system, credit card draft terminal, and pricing system.
- Ability to meet quotas and make pricing decisions based on product quality.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and associates.
- Physical stamina to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, stoop, reach up to six feet with a ladder if needed, and pull, push, and lift 50 pounds; heavier lifting may be required with assistance.
- Sufficient mobility to work in any area of the facility.
- Provide documentation satisfying I-9 requirements and pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
Nice To Haves
- One year of customer service experience dealing with the public is preferred.
- Open availability of schedule is preferred.
Responsibilities

- Assist customers on the sales floor with selecting and locating merchandise.
- Maintain hangers and textile sizing on the sales floor.
- Return empty racks and carts to the production area and restock depleted merchandise.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the sales floor and perform necessary cleaning in all areas of the store.
- Perform other duties as requested.
