Assistant Retail Manager - Basswood
About The Position
The Assistant Retail Operations Manager assists the retail store manager with daily store operations to help ensure monthly goals are met. The role supports team members and customers on the sales floor and at the cashier’s desk, including making correct change, and assists with opening and closing the store. It supervises and manages the acceptance, sorting, categorizing, pricing, and distribution of donated goods while maintaining a safe, secure, and clean work environment. The position is at Store #65 Kennedale, 3200 Basswood Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas. It is full-time, 40 hours per week, with days and hours varying Monday through Sunday and two days off. The schedule requires open availability, including work one hour before opening and one hour after closing, seven days a week. The role may require travel to corporate or other locations as requested.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a retail operation, including at least one year with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong math and communication capabilities, with leadership skills demonstrated in previous employment or a prior position.
- Ability to adapt to and manage change.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and other team members.
- Ability to coach and train peers or team members and guide team members with disabilities and people who are disadvantaged.
- Proven computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to use a point-of-sale (POS) system and a credit-card draft-capture terminal, and to instruct employees in their proper use.
- Ability to operate a computerized pricing and inventory system.
- Open availability for a varying schedule, including one hour before store opening and one hour after store closing, seven days a week.
- Documentation satisfying I-9 requirements; background check and drug screen.
- Sufficient mobility to work throughout the facility and grounds and to travel to corporate or other locations as requested.
- Ability to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
