About The Position

The Seasonal Peak Associate at Ocean State Job Lot is a temporary seasonal position supporting essential store operations, including register support, freight receiving, and merchandising in designated areas. The role contributes to a positive customer experience and efficient store operations in a fast-paced environment during peak seasons and at new store openings. Associates may also be asked to perform other duties and tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.

Requirements

Basic math and reading skills.
Legible handwriting and good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform physical activities including using hand tools, climbing or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting frequently.
Ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service, build friendly rapport using the T.R.E.A.T. model, and foster a welcoming environment.
Operate a cash register, handle transactions accurately, and help customers with product questions, item locations, and purchases.
Promote company customer initiatives, including donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
Maintain displays, restock assigned areas, and follow OSJL merchandising standards.
Unload deliveries according to company processes, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
Safely set up and move fixtures as needed.
Work collaboratively and independently toward goals, and communicate opportunities for improvement to store leadership.
Understand, support, and implement store safety protocols.
Keep the store neat, organized, and safe through regular cleaning and janitorial tasks.
