Temporary Seasonal Retail Store Associate - Part-Time - nights and weekends
About The Position
The Seasonal Peak Associate is a seasonal, part-time or full-time role responsible for processing and preparing merchandise, fixtures, and supplies at an assigned store location. The associate also helps move, stock, and replenish merchandise on the sales floor and in receiving areas. The role includes following the company’s freight management process, preparing merchandise for sale, recovering work areas, and operating a cash register as needed. The position is based primarily in a climate-controlled environment, although conditions may vary across the sales floor, stockroom/receiving area, and operations/office area. The role involves frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds on a regular basis. Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform physical activities including using hand tools, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and lifting frequently.
Nice To Haves
- Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
- Merchandise fixtures and other supplies from trucks and direct them to designated areas on the sales floor.
- Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by removing packaging, verifying price information, and ticketing where necessary.
- Process merchandise according to Company procedures and direction.
- Perform ongoing recovery during shifts as needed, including collecting trash and compacting cardboard.
- Work independently and as part of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
- Operate a cash register as needed.
- Recover receiving areas and the sales floor before the end of each shift.
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested by supervisors or managers.
