About The Position

Assists the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in operating and managing a retail center, performing duties personally or through supporting team members. Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of, or at the direction of, the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager. Provides customer service, receives and processes donations, prices and stocks merchandise, operates the point-of-sale system, maintains production records and goals, and keeps the work environment clean. Trains and coaches team members, resolves customer concerns, reports security issues, follows agency policies and safety standards, and performs administrative and clerical work such as opening and closing duties, bank deposits, and securing the building. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret memos, operating manuals, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present standard information effectively to customers and team members with tact, courtesy, and cooperation.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing by tens and hundreds.
• Ability to follow detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to operate a telephone, multi-key register, typewriter, computer, fax machine, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift/stacker and CPR/first-aid certifications.
• Ability to perform data entry and keyboarding.
• Ability to instruct or verify the work of others.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel locally as required.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations using the GRATIS process.
• Sort, price, tag, and stock hardline and softline donations for sale.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately, complete merchandise sales, and request customer change round-ups.
• Accurately record donations, merchandise production, and assigned tasks; meet or exceed production goals.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate mastery of cashier, softline production, donor services, and hardline production roles through evaluation.
• Obtain and maintain forklift, walk-behind stacker, first-aid, CPR, and BBP certifications.
• Train newly onboarded team members, set a positive example, and provide coaching when needed.
• Issue refunds and resolve customer concerns.
• Report known or suspected security and theft problems to store management, the District Manager, or Asset Protection.
• Comply with agency policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead the retail team and store activities in the absence of, or at the direction of, the Retail Store Manager or Retail Assistant Store Manager.
• Train team members, plan and assign work, direct work, address concerns, and report circumstances to the Retail Store Manager or Retail Assistant Store Manager.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including opening and closing duties, bank deposits, and securing the building, as directed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
