About The Position

Nordstrom Rack team members work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, collaborating to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and provide customers with a quick, easy experience. The role includes keeping the store clean and clutter-free, helping customers find merchandise, and working flexibly across store areas. Roles are available in Sales, Customer Service, Stock, and Fulfillment, with specific interests discussed during the interview process. Sales and Customer Service work includes maintaining and replenishing the sales floor, assisting with transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms, supporting fitting rooms, returning clothing to the sales floor, organizing stockrooms, checking in and ticketing merchandise, using store technologies, following operational and asset-protection standards, and promoting Nordstrom Rewards. Stock Support and Fulfillment work includes receiving and processing freight and merchandise, fulfilling and shipping customer orders to quality standards, using inventory management systems, maintaining organized sales floors and stockrooms, and providing general store support such as event setup, markdowns, backroom organization, and fixture relocation. The role requires continuous movement and handling merchandise, with heavier lifting requirements for Stock and Fulfillment. The pay range is $17.45–$18.15 per hour, with offers dependent on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
For Stock and Fulfillment roles, frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Keep the sales floor runway-ready by re-merchandising, straightening, sizing, and replenishing merchandise throughout the day.
Assist customers with transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms using point-of-sale systems; bag items and handle bulky merchandise.
Support fitting room customers and sort and return clothing to the sales floor.
Maintain a clean, clutter-free customer environment by sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store environment.
Follow operational, merchandise, and asset-protection standards.
Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and according to quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory-control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
