Retail Sales Clerk - Part Time

About The Position

At Russell Stover, Sales Clerks help ensure that customers’ experiences in retail stores meet or exceed the company’s quality expectations. The role includes welcoming customers, providing courteous service and product information, processing payments, preparing and supervising regular in-house production of items such as caramel apples and fudge, stocking merchandise, and completing cleaning and other store tasks. The position requires a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to meet the stated standing, bending, reaching, hand-use, and lifting requirements. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and relevant customer service, cash handling, retail, restaurant, fast-food, or cash register experience. Employment is contingent on I-9 employment eligibility verification, a urinalysis drug screen, education verification, and satisfactory reference and background checks.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to constantly stand, bend, reach, and work with hands.
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Customer service experience.
Cash handling experience.
12 months of experience in a retail, restaurant, or fast-food environment.
Experience operating a cash register.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers by greeting them.
Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service.
Help customers make selections by providing product information, building customer confidence, and offering suggestions.
Accurately total purchases and process checks, cash, and credit card payments.
Prepare and supervise regular in-house production of items such as caramel apples and fudge.
Unload, receive, and stock merchandise.
Execute merchandising activities.
Perform regular cleaning activities and other required tasks.
Contribute to the team by accomplishing a variety of directed tasks.
