About The Position

This position has primary responsibility for sales activities including greeting customers, answering questions, suggesting/upselling products, offering samples of products to customers, processing payments, keeping the selling floor stocked, addressing customer complaints, and assisting in the display of merchandise.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
  • The employee frequently is required to operate and use tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
  • The employee must move up to 42 pounds frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends, selects, and helps locate or obtain merchandise.
  • Answers questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Computes sales prices, totals purchases, and receives and processes payments.
  • Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.
  • Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Tickets, arranges, and displays merchandise to promote sales.
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Communicates necessary information to Supervisor regarding product, usage, and additional items requested by clients.
  • Exchanges merchandise for customers and accepts returns; places special orders.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of designated work areas.
  • Requests proper identification from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages when legal age is questionable (under the age of 30).
  • Complies with company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, alcohol service, and safety.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
