About The Position

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is hiring a Retail Sales Associate to provide customer service and maintain the sales floor for a safe and enjoyable shopping experience. The position works with team members to prepare and display merchandise and provides operational support to management. The role also supports the organization’s mission by assisting customers and donors and communicating its mission and vision when requesting monetary donations at the point of sale. Two part-time positions are available at the Loveland location. Pay is $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule in support of store opening, production, and closing operations.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers and Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries associates.
Excellent verbal communication, active listening, sales, and customer service skills.
Ability to anticipate customer needs.
Ability to process information and merchandise using a computer system and POS register system, and to use a calculator.
Basic math and cash-handling skills, including counting and giving change and maintaining an accurate register, with or without a calculator.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and twist for up to 8 hours.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently.
Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
Close vision ability for computer work.
Regular, predictable attendance as business demands dictate.

Responsibilities

Provide professional, friendly, and courteous service to customers in and outside the store and over the phone.
Process sales transactions accurately at the point-of-sale system.
Work a flexible supervisor-set schedule supporting store opening, production, and closing operations, including weekends and holidays.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions promptly and courteously.
Maintain dressing room standards and sales floor presentation, and communicate product needs to management.
Keep the register area orderly and clean.
Execute store security procedures.
Communicate store messages using the paging system.
Perform housekeeping as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting restrooms and dressing rooms.
Assist donors and customers outside retail locations, greet donors, receive donations, and provide donation receipts.
Communicate the organization’s mission and vision to donors and customers when requesting monetary donations at the point of sale.
Perform other duties as assigned.
