About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging with customers, applying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean, organized store. The role follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1236 in Laurel, Maryland, with a starting pay range of $15.25 to $15.75 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
