About The Position

This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service to shoppers and donors, maintaining a clean and organized work and shopping environment, and accurately handling all transactions. The Salvation Army's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Requirements

High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management, and co-workers.
Basic computer skills including the use of the Point of Sales System, the payroll program, and all other programs or systems adopted by The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Command.
Ability to give change accurately.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with the Point of Sale system should be obtained within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Present a professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.
Accurately manage personal cash drawer; opening, closing, and balancing. Adhere to all Salvation Army money handling procedures.
Understand and effectively and efficiently use the Point of Sales system to complete sales.
Maintain a clean work environment at the cash register and throughout the store, including cleaning, straightening, hanging, and restocking as needed.
Maintain a friendly demeanor, greeting customers and offering assistance.
Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
Keep the floor stocked with merchandise and put new merchandise out.
Work to meet the production goals for the store each day as needed.
Be available for a flexible schedule.
