Retail Sales Associate, San Francisco Union Square - Part Time
About The Position
As a Retail Sales Associate, also known as a Generalist colleague, you are an integral part of bringing the Macy’s magic, with the Macy’s shopper as your highest priority. By paying close attention to customer preferences and developing expertise in Macy’s merchandise and services, you create exceptional experiences for customers. You help your team meet sales goals by delivering consistently superior service and contribute a positive, welcoming presence across your area. The role supports customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, as well as through product presentations, as part of an inclusive team. This is a part-time position in Macy’s San Francisco Union Square store. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, depending on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- No education or experience required.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Be resourceful, eager to start a new venture, and able to adapt to changing priorities.

- Comfortable using electronic devices.
Responsibilities
- Learn store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy’s sales systems to help customers find what they need and suggest additional items.
- Develop customer relationships to grow business and expand the client base.
- Respond to customer requests for merchandise or other assistance, including explaining how to use an electronic device to shop and compare.
- Locate and pull merchandise to fulfill digital customer orders.
- Maintain department recovery standards, including the selling floor and fitting rooms.
- Support merchandise presentation, ensure accurate pricing, and process markdowns promptly and accurately.
- Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
