About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. With product knowledge and proper selling techniques, they assist customers throughout each step of the transaction process while positively representing the New Balance brand. The role includes helping customers find and fit suitable products, completing sales, maintaining the sales floor, and protecting merchandise.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to flourish in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to quickly perform basic math.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 pounds frequently and a maximum of 8 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to kneel or squat frequently; move product boxes up to 50 pounds with assistance if necessary; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using product knowledge, proper selling techniques, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and complete transactions through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, well stocked, and looking its best.
• Ensure items are correctly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
