About The Position

The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service and promote the US Foods strategy, “Great Food, Made Easy.” The role supports the company’s Cultural Beliefs: Deliver Excellence, Stop Waste, WIN Together, Speak Up and You Matter. Associates may serve as cashiers, stockers, and customer courtesy team members, and are assigned to departments and tasks according to customer and business needs. Duties may include assisting customers and processing purchases at checkout; working in Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, or Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply; replenishing and rotating products; and supporting store events, sales floor resets, and inventory processes. The position is based in a retail store open to the public. Work may involve exposure to outside weather, moderate noise, ladders or elevated surfaces, and store temperatures ranging from -10 to 85 degrees. Working in freezers and coolers is required. The role requires flexibility to work Monday through Sunday, based on business needs, between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The starting rate is $19.13 per hour; the expected base rate is $17.13 to $22 per hour. Overtime compensation may also be available.

Requirements

At least 6–12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
Basic computer skills, cash-handling experience, and proficiency using general office equipment.
Ability to work in freezers and coolers.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting and carrying of 51–100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide customers with an excellent CHEF’STORE experience and build customer relationships.
Process sales and cash transactions accurately using the POS, scan merchandise, weigh products as needed, and report barcode discrepancies.
Transfer products from cart to cart at checkout and visually inspect for product tampering.
Check customer receipts against cart contents as customers leave the store.
Perform assigned front-end opening and closing functions.
Help customers find products and learn about store services while supporting sales and shrinkage management.
Receive inventory shipments and stock shelves neatly, rotate products, audit product quality, and report low stock.
Ensure merchandise is correctly labeled, including unscannable merchandise, catch-weight items, and produce.
Replenish the sales floor from top stock, follow FIFO, and use reach trucks and pallet jacks to move and stock product.
Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software as needed.
Keep products accessible, visually appealing, and available; assist with price changes as directed.
Assist with store opening and closing duties and participate in inventory and cycle counts as needed.
Help maintain a safe facility by following safety practices and reporting or correcting safety issues when possible.
Clean the sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area using cleaning equipment as needed.
Gather carts from parking lots and cart corrals, return them to the designated area, and ensure they are clean and operable.
Perform other duties as assigned or required by Store Management.
