About The Position

EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate / Retail Customer Service Team Member (Pawnbroker) at its EZPawn store in Mission, Texas. The role provides daily customer interaction, supporting sales and reaching mutually satisfying agreements involving pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to create a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer environment.

Employees begin as Trainees in a five-week paid training program. Upon completion, they receive a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Further development opportunities include a Pawnbroker Certification Program with an additional $1-per-hour raise, advancement to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Leader), and a path to Assistant Manager that includes a six-month training program. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $12 to $13 per hour, and the role offers monthly bonus potential based on store and individual performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test after a conditional offer.
• Adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Self-motivation, a positive and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
• Sales background.
• Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service through in-person and phone interactions.
• Process sales, loans, and extensions.
• Perform store opening and closing duties.
• Help customers reach mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items.
