About The Position
Guitar Center’s Sales Associate serves as the face of the store, greeting customers, learning what they need, recommending appropriate products, and working to close sales. The role supports Guitar Center’s mission to nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music, while contributing to an inclusive, customer-first environment. Successful associates demonstrate strong customer focus, initiative, interpersonal communication, and a willingness to learn. They build product and sales knowledge through Guitar Center’s certification, onboarding, and continuing education programs. The position also involves maintaining store readiness and displays, monitoring inventory, and developing customer relationships to support future service needs. Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements

- Strong orientation toward providing excellent customer service.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work through Guitar Center’s certification program to gain a base understanding of products and sales techniques.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, positively, and courteously with diverse people and stakeholders.
- Ability to identify opportunities or issues and follow through on work activities.

Responsibilities
- Reach sales targets on services.
- Demonstrate product and service knowledge to customers.
- Assist customers and guide them through the sales process.

- Assist with tasks that ensure the store is ready to conduct business and serve customers.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish displays as needed.
- Build customer relationships to fulfill future service needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
