About The Position
The Fragrance Assistant provides professional customer service by selling and demonstrating fragrances and related items, and contributes to department success by achieving personal sales goals. The role also includes fulfillment and other duties as needed. Store colleagues create memorable shopping experiences, serve digital and in-store customers, and support sales and the success of the department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of related experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds; stand for at least two consecutive hours; move, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
Responsibilities
- Use POS and MPOS systems, including Search and Send, My Client, and the More@ Macy’s tablet app.
- Assist customers using devices to shop and compare products.
- Provide exceptional service to digital and in-store customers, making appropriate partnerships when needed.
- Explain and demonstrate cosmetics use through actual application.
- Achieve personal sales goals.
- Attend product training classes, seminars, and pre-selling drives.
- Maintain presentation, organization, storage, and replenishment of stock.
- Process new receipts, damages, testers, and returns to vendors (RTVs) in a timely manner.
- Keep the work area free from hazards and work safely.
- Follow Asset Protection, inventory control, compliance, hygiene, and shortage-prevention procedures.
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
