About The Position

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Sales Agronomist for its Brevant Seeds brand, serving the Southeast South Dakota area. This role is for individuals passionate about providing solutions to customers and supporting a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, in Agronomy, Business, or Marketing required. Will consider other degrees with related agronomy and field sales experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years agronomy and sales experience, with proven abilities preferred.
  • Must be able to provide an agronomy skillset, selling tactics, negotiation skills, and influence.
  • Understanding of Agronomy and Crop Production practices.
  • Understanding of the key Crop Protection product offerings in the Territory.
  • Understanding changing market dynamics (forecasting, product/marketing input) and building a network of strategic sellers to drive increased demand within the territory.
  • Ability to pass driving record background check.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the relationship, product training, demand creation, team-selling, and portfolio planning with retailer sellers.
  • Providing product training and support through in-person or various media forms with retail sellers.
  • Leveraging and promoting the portfolio, supporting the process, and instilling knowledge and confidence in sellers.
  • Understanding and executing account-level strategy with retail sellers by collaborating with the Retail Business Manager (RBM).
  • Maintaining seller focus on planning efforts to drive business forward.
  • Owning the seller plan and mutually executing with strategic retail sellers.
  • Driving the retail seller’s ability to demonstrate value beyond products to create product demand.
  • Sales execution, demand plan, inventory ownership, plot strategy, agronomy meetings, and in-field trainings.
  • Providing industry-leading support regarding Brevant products to key retail sellers.
  • Coordinating efforts with functional leaders in the area, such as Area Product Manager (APM), Strategic Business Consultant (SBC), customer service team, and supply team.
