About The Position

Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking a Retail Sales Agent to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Copper & Thistle / Coffee Market and to provide extraordinary customer service to guests, members, and associates. The hotel is part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, which includes the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, and TCO Stadium. The hotel itself is a 320-room luxury property with extensive meeting and event spaces, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Requirements

  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, members, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Scheduling flexibility, including willingness to work split shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • General knowledge of cash handling and Point of Sale systems is preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current Minnesota’s Food Handlers certification and alcohol tips certificate (If not, training will be conducted during the first week of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for either the opening or closing of the outlet as assigned, ensuring outlets are open on time.
  • Upsell and organize the retail shop / café merchandise.
  • Produce quality beverages for customers such as lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso-based drinks, blended drinks, and coffee.
  • Assist the Lobby lounge with food and beverage service, including table service when needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned bank each shift.
  • Support new Omni standards and respond to changes and updates in the retail area.
  • Alert Managers of any inventory shortages or ordering needs.
  • Follow up on daily projects to ensure follow-through.
  • Conduct daily and monthly physical inventory.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Maintain general knowledge of the hotel, including locations of dining outlets, pool, and spa to assist guests and members.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • Ability to run the place independently, including financial responsibility and operational needs.
  • Ability to create daily orders and requisitions for all retail items, including F&B.
