About The Position

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Tech Trainee to join their team. This role reports to the Lead Pharmacist or Retail Pharmacy Supervisor and assists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages under the supervision of a pharmacist. The position requires independent judgment, technical knowledge, and accuracy. Requirements

Must be competent and accurate with performing math calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions, percentages, fractions and the metric system.
Must demonstrate the ability to exercise professional judgment in dealing with pharmacy’s customers.
Must be competent and thorough in performing job functions to all age groups.
Must display satisfactory customer relation skills consistent with Mercy’s mission, values and expectations.
Must display behavior consistent with Pharmacy Citizenship Standards.
Must effectively utilize verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to organize, prioritize, and function in an environment with multiple stress factors.
Must be competent with all hospital and pharmacy information system programs that pharmacy utilizes.
Must be 17 years of age or older and eligible to sit for the national technician certification exam within 1 year of hire.
Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment.
Pass the test for and maintain national technician certification as outlined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 1 year of employment.
If unable to pass the test within 1 year of employment, the employee will need to be terminated from the pharmacy technician trainee position.

Responsibilities
