Assists licensed pharmacists in technical duties related to the preparation and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances. This role involves screening phone calls, managing pharmacy inventory, performing nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture where applicable, and ensuring adherence to medication storage policies. The technician will also be responsible for obtaining and recording patient demographic information, data entry into the pharmacy system, insurance verification, label generation, and cashiering. Additionally, they may obtain immunization certification and perform immunizations under pharmacist supervision, and potentially operate a vehicle to deliver medications and supplies. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of patients served.
