About The Position

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is hiring a full-time Retail Pharmacy Technician 1 at 3901 Stonecroft Blvd, Chantilly, Virginia. The position follows an 8-hour schedule with rotating day and evening shifts, Monday through Friday, and requires working every other weekend. The technician assists the Pharmacist with prescription processing and medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license.
Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.

One year of retail Pharmacy Technician experience.

Responsibilities

Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.
Clean equipment and maintain required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.
Check medication and administration supply inventory for expired products, remove them from inventory, and work with the appropriate resource to record them in the Expiring Medication log book.
Enter prescription information in the computer, including patient and prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation and entry, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
Prepare medications for clients by mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.
