About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1 works under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and follows standard procedures to perform general clerical and support duties for the department. The role includes entering information into the pharmacy IT system, selling prescriptions, managing inventory, and completing prescription workflow steps. The position is with the outpatient pharmacy team at Missouri Baptist. Previous retail or outpatient pharmacy experience is preferred. The schedule is Monday through Friday during the day, with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Previous retail or outpatient pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete clerical duties, including sending and receiving tubes and faxes, filing prescriptions, and processing mail and courier prescriptions.
• Enter customer, insurance, and prescription information and complete prescription transfers.
• Sell prescriptions using a point-of-sale system, handle cash, manage payment exceptions, and reconcile cash.
• Order and manage drug and non-drug inventory; stock shelves; rotate, organize, and remove expired products; perform cycle counts; and return items to stock.
• Complete data entry and contact manager duties, product dispensing manually and through Parata and RxSafe systems, and basic compounding.
