About The Position

The Retail Personal Banker II provides an exceptional customer experience by building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. Using a consultative sales and service process, the banker helps customers understand and address financial needs and recommends solutions across the customer lifecycle. The role is accountable for managing risk within the Bank’s risk appetite, following policies and procedures, and acting in ways that support positive experiences for customers and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in a sales environment.
• Ability to develop comfort with both acquiring new households and deepening customer relationships.
• Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
• Ability to analyze credit and financial information.
• Business acumen.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Must obtain S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, maintain, and enhance relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach in person, by phone, or through other appropriate channels.
• Use a consultative approach with current and prospective customers to identify needs and tailor recommendations, solutions, and advice.
• Maintain working knowledge of the Bank’s products, services, and processes.
• Collaborate with internal partners to meet customer needs and resolve problems.
• Analyze customer credit data and related financial information to ensure customers receive solutions aligned with their needs.
• Provide customer support that reinforces the value of current and new technology.
• Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, modeling expected ethical behavior.
• Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks; elevate concerns and follow applicable policies and procedures.
