About The Position

The Retail Operations Intern is a hands-on, hospitality-based retail role in the Gallery of Shops. The intern spends most of their time learning and performing daily store operations while interacting with guests. Alongside store management, the position may include opportunities to observe buyer and vendor meetings and learn about product selection. Shop upkeep includes cleanliness, receiving merchandise, stocking, and general maintenance. The internship is for the Summer 2026 season, although the posting title references Summer 2027.

Requirements

Relevant experience or customer service experience.
Must be currently enrolled at a university, college, or community college and receive college credit for the internship.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Highly motivated, positive attitude, and able to multitask.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide outstanding guest service.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, up to 8–10 hours per day.
Ability to stoop, bend, and carry items that sometimes exceed 30 pounds, with a stated limit of 50 pounds.
Ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Ability to adapt and perform under stress during emergencies and handle stressful or compromising situations while remaining focused and professional.
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Assist guests with their needs and offer suggestions to help complete sales, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Learn merchandise details, including pricing, quality, functionality, and features.
Receive incoming merchandise and verify its accuracy.
Stock the outlet according to established procedures and the Retail Manager’s direction.
Work with the Retail Manager two days per week on buying and merchandising processes.
Complete assignments from the Retail Manager and maintain communication and good rapport with coworkers.
Perform outlet opening and closing procedures.
Attend all meetings and complete online training sessions.
Follow grooming and dress standards in the Employee Handbook.
Understand and follow the resort’s environmental practices.
Attend bi-weekly intern and committee meetings.
Complete internship projects.
Attend customer service training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
