About The Position

The Retail Operations Intern works primarily in the Gallery of Shops, learning and supporting daily retail operations while assisting guests. The position also offers occasional opportunities to observe buyer and vendor meetings and learn about product selection. Interns help maintain shop cleanliness and support merchandise receiving, stocking, and general maintenance. The internship requires current enrollment at a university, college, or community college and receipt of college credit. Interns attend meetings and training, complete projects and other assignments, and work a flexible schedule of 30–40+ hours per week.

Requirements

Relevant experience or customer service experience.
Must be currently enrolled at a university, college, or community college and receive college credit for the internship.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Highly motivated, positive attitude, and ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide outstanding guest service.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, up to 8–10 hours per day.
Ability to stoop, bend, and carry items that sometimes exceed 30 pounds, with lifting limited to 50 pounds.
Ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Adaptability when performing under stress during emergencies and ability to handle stressful or compromising situations while remaining focused and professional.
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; time-off requests are granted only if business allows.

Responsibilities

Assist guests with their needs and make suggestions to help close sales.
Learn merchandise details, including pricing, quality, functionality, and features.
Receive incoming merchandise and verify its accuracy.
Stock the outlet according to established procedures and the Retail Manager’s direction.
Work with the Retail Manager two days a week on buying and merchandising processes.
Complete assignments from the Retail Manager and maintain communication and good rapport with coworkers.
Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet.
Attend meetings and complete online training sessions.
Follow grooming and dress standards in the Employee Handbook.
Understand and follow the resort’s environmental practices.
Attend bi-weekly intern meetings and committee meetings.
Complete internship projects and attend customer service training.
Perform shop maintenance, including cleanliness, receiving, stocking, and general maintenance.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
