Requirements

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, eCommerce, or related field
  • 6+ years in shopper marketing, retail marketing, ecommerce, or omnichannel roles
  • Experience working with major retailers (e.g., PetSmart, Best Buy, Costco, Amazon)
  • Strong understanding of both physical retail and digital commerce environments
  • Experience optimizing PDPs, merchandising, and/or retail media
  • Analytical mindset with ability to connect retail performance to broader business outcomes
  • Ability to translate brand and DTC strategy into channel-specific execution
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills (Sales, Performance, Creative, Product)
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Responsibilities

  • Defines how retail environments (in-store, online, activation and tradeshow) function as extensions of the Whisker customer journey
  • Optimizes how customers discover, evaluate, and “experience” the product without traditional trial
  • Turns retail into a high-performing “showroom” consideration engine for in-store and DTC vs “point of sale
  • Translates DTC strategy, messaging, and learnings into retailer-specific execution across physical and digital channels
  • Ensures consistency while adapting to the nuances of each partner (PetSmart, Best Buy, Costco, Amazon, TikTok Shop, etc.)
  • Builds integrated plans that connect retail, digital, and owned channels into a unified experience
  • Owns how the product is presented across environments—from shelf presence and displays to PDPs and content modules
  • Develops experiences that reduce friction for a high-consideration purchase (education, comparison, proof, demonstration)
  • Continuously tests and improves how merchandising drives engagement and conversion
  • Partners with Performance to activate and optimize retail media (Amazon, retailer networks, emerging platforms)
  • Identifies and scales new commerce surfaces (e.g., TikTok Shop) as growth channels
  • Ensures retail platforms are not just endpoints, but active contributors to acquisition and demand generation
  • Defines best-in-class content strategies for retailer environments (PDPs, video, reviews, FAQs, comparison tools)
  • Optimizes for both algorithmic visibility (search within platforms) and human conversion
  • Brings a test-and-learn approach to improving conversion rates across all retail touchpoints
  • Acts as the marketing counterpart to Sales, ensuring retailer strategies are both compelling and executable
  • Equips partners with the tools, content, and experiences needed to effectively sell the product
  • Aligns on priorities, opportunities, and performance goals across national promo strategy and account strategies
  • Defines how success is measured across fragmented retail environments (sell-through, conversion, traffic, engagement)
  • Identifies insights across partners and apply learnings system-wide
  • Builds a continuous improvement loop across all retail surfaces
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required
