About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Supervisor at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exceptional customer service. The supervisor coordinates truck deliveries and merchandise flow to the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles; monitors team productivity and coaches as needed; and partners with management on training needs. The role also maintains backroom organization, merchandising and signage standards, and compliance with recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs. The supervisor communicates priorities and progress, promotes credit and loyalty programs, supports shrink-reduction goals, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position is located at TJ Maxx Store 0060 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. It offers a starting pay range of $13.50 to $14.00 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
