About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Department Supervisor at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, exceptional service, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Supervisor coordinates truck delivery and merchandise flow to the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure tasks are completed according to the store plan. The role also supports store safety, compliance, shrink reduction, and credit and loyalty programs. This position is at TJ Maxx Store 0775, 1707 Stringtown Road, Grove City, Ohio. The starting pay range is USD $14.50 to $15.00 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to plan terms and, for some benefits, service or hours requirements.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
